Idaho Fun

It has been a couple weeks since I have last blogged, I'm sorry I am slacking. One reason was because Dax and I packed up some stuff and went to Idaho. It's no longer called "Rexburg" when we go to Idaho because we don't stay long in Rexburg. We are mostly in Idaho Falls and Rigby. Kami was nice enough to come and pick us up since the Jeep isn't quite running correctly.
We got into Idaho Falls about 2 in the Afternoon on Friday January 15th. On Saturday I dropped Dax off at Grandpa Gary's house while I went to Ray's Grandpa's wedding. It was fun to see some of the Phillips'.

Before the wedding Grandma Julie (Ray's mom) slipped and fell and ended up breaking her leg.

The next week, we were able to meet up with some Great Grandparents for lunch. Help Kami with some wedding plans. Also, meet up with a couple of Daxton's aunts for lunch. We spent some time with everyone, and it was really nice.

On Thursday, Ray was able to come down and be with us for a while. Which was an even better treat!
Friday, my Mom offered to watch Dax while Ray and I went out on a date. We haven't done that since before we got pregnant with the lil man. We went out to eat at Famous Dave then went to a Movie. We had a great time bonding just as husband and wife.
Saturday was a 'Family' day. We hung out and did what we wanted. Kami and Garrett came over to Grandma Lorie's with their dog Chase, and Chase pulled Dax and Kaden around in the sled. I wasn't there at first so I didn't see how Dax reacted, but I heard he didn't like it. It wasn't soon after they started Chase ran after a snowball knocking both Dax and Kaden out of the sled, Dax ended up with a bloody nose, and Kaden a scratched cheek. We were even able to go swimming. Some of the looks on Daxton's face were soo stinkin cute. He looked so content, I wish I was able to get a picture.
Sunday we went over to Ray's parents house and spent the day talking to everyone there. I love having all the company, and all the different conversations.
Monday was Kadens 4th Birthday. We stayed for it. We haven't been able to make it to one of his Birthdays.. #4 was our very first one. We got him the Elefun game.
Tuesday came wayyy to fast, we woke up early and packed our things and set off to go home. We were lucky enough to have Ray bring us home. He was able to get a few more days off than we planned on.

Dunno Why..

So, the last couple of days I have kept opening my Blog and had a feeling for some reason to explain what Ray and I went through 3 years ago. So forgive me if you are uninterested in this topic. But, it may be educational.
It was October 2007 that Ray and I found out that we were expecting. We were a little bit in denial but were coming to our senses. I was having a great pregnancy, I wasn't sick, I felt great had tons of energy and was really happy. I did however feel pregnant, I was in maternity clothes, and had a baby bump, and I was only 10 weeks along. First I thought TWINS!! But what happened I never expected! I try to block most of this time period out so bare with me...
One night I woke up with really bad nausea. I went to the bathroom to get some relief. I found that I started spotting in the middle of the night.
When we woke up we called the doctor, went in and they couldn't find the heartbeat, and so we scheduled an ultrasound. During the ultrasound the tech had the nerve to ask if I was even pregnant and if I took a pregnany test!! I couldn't believe it!! I yelled at her. Yes i took a pregnany test, I was suppose to be almost done with the 1st trimester. Well to keep this post as short as possible, I ended up "losing my baby" well, atleast that is what I told everyone, I didn't have to explain to everyone if I told them that.
Truth is I didn't "lose my baby" the truth is there wasn't an actual fetus. I had what they call a Molar Pregnany.

A molar pregnancy refers to a pregnancy that is a type of gestational trophoblastic disease. It can refer to either a complete or a partial mole. Throughout the United States and Europe the incidence is about 1/1000 and 1/2000 pregnancies. Although it is much more common in areas such as Southeast Asia and Mexico.

We still do not know exactly why a molar pregnancy occurs. It is believed to be a nutritional deficit like protein or carotene. It can also be caused by a ovular (ovulation) defect.

There are two different Molar Pregnany; Complete and Incomplete(partial)

Complete Mole
This occurs when the nucleus of an egg is either lost or inactivated. The sperm then duplicates itself because the egg was lacking genetic information. Usually there is no fetus, no placenta, no fluid and no amniotic membranes.

The uterus is rather filled with the mole that resembles a bunch of grapes. The fluid filled vesicles grow rapidly, which can make the uterus seem larger than it should be for gestational age. Because there is no placenta to receive the blood typically you will see bleeding into the uterine cavity or vaginal bleeding.

Partial Mole
This most frequently occurs when two sperm fertilize the same egg. There may be partial placentas, membranes or even a fetus present in a partial mole. However, there are usually genetic problems with the baby. Rarely, a partial mole will exist with twin pregnancy, however, the other twin rarely survives.

I had the complete molar pregnancy. If the body doesn't naturally get rid of the pregnancy you have to go in and get a D & C performed. When performing the D & C the OB has to make sure to get all of the mole, if any is missed there is a chance that it could develope into cancer and hemmoraging. There was also a chance that I might have had to have a hysterectomy. After the D & C I had to get my hCG levels tested for weeks to make sure that they were going back to normal. Then we had to wait a year to try to get pregnant again.. Unlike some people we were very fortunate to easily get blessed with another baby exactly 13 months from when I had the D & C.

As you can see, it was easier for me to explain that I "had a miscarriage" or "lost my baby" because if I explained things to people they came back with the comment "atleast there wasn't a fetus" but it doesn't matter to me, fetus or no fetus. It hurt just the same. I couldn't stand hearing about when someone got pregnant or had a baby, I was being very selfish. But I hurt.

I am just thankful that I had a great husband and priesthood holder in my home to give me blessing and words of encouragment.

Happy New Year!

This is the first post of the year 2011! 2010 was great for our family, with a few obstacles that got in the way. I am hoping 2011 gets even better! I have thought of a few resolutions for this New Year.
1- Read atleast one booke to Dax a day.
2- Do something for myself atleast once a month
3- Finish our Living room, and start on the Bathroom
4- Become a better Member Missionary

Ok, so enough with Resolutions.. Daxton is getting so big. He has a huge vocabulary!
>Mama
>Dada
>Apple
>Drink
>Kitty
>Doggie
>Book
>Color
>Thank-You
>Please
>Poos
>Ball
>All done
>Down
>Hi
>Hello
>Boot
>Shoe
>Blue (Blues Clues)
>Hot
>Baby
>Hat
>Daxton
>Duck
>Ow

Those are just a few that I can think of at this moment. He is growing so much. He is in the same clothes as he was since he was about 10 months old. His pants are just getting a little shorter! He loves to color, read books, watch Blues Clues, play Basketball, and run his fingers through my hair. We are getting him used to only having his binky at nap time/ bed time. I will ask him to put his bink on his pillow, and he will throw it on there. When he is tired he knows where it is and that he can have it. So we go and get it, snuggle in our Rocker, read a couple books and sing some songs. His favorite song to sing before he closes his eyes is "I am a Child of God." I love him.

Now, about Ray. He is still in North Dakota. He is working 13 on 1 off. (If that doesn't make sense, he works every other Sunday.) We unfortunatly didn't get to spend New Years with eachother. I am just hoping that he will get a call this week and be able to come home. He works so hard for us, and I am so thankful for everything that he does! We love and Miss him like crazy!

Well, for now, I think this is all I'm going to start this post with. Again, from our Home to Yours
