The Longest October Month Ever!

So, it has been about 3 week since I posted last. A lot has been happening but nothing that helps the days go by fast. Ray left for North Dakota on October 4th! Sad day for us. We were planning on going to Rexburg the day he left but some little mishaps happened and we didn't get to head down there until Wednesday the 6th!

I will start with North Dakota: Ray is in a town called Williston. The population of the town is around 13,000. I don't know a whole lot about what is there but I do know that there is an International Airport, Wal-Mart, Applebees, and of course my Hub. We surely do miss him and his helping hand around the house it is definitely different trying to me the Husband and the Wife, and the Mother and the Father. I really feel for the spouses of military heroes. We were under the impression that Ray was basically going to be able pick his own schedule so he was going to do 3 weeks of work then one week home with us. Well, when he got there he found out otherwise. He isn't going to be able to come and visit us until Thanksgiving.. It's going to be a lonnngg month!!!

Idaho Falls, Rigby, Rexburg, St. Anthony: Dax and I started out in IF. We were able to stay with Kami, Kaden, and Garrett. Kaden and Dax I know really do like each other but you know too much of a good thing is never good. After a few days Dax and I headed to my Mom's. We did have some good times with Kami, Kaden, and Garrett. We were able to go and feed the ducks at the Greenbelt. Dax was having so much fun throwing bread into the river and say "Duck". At the Shilo one night they were having a Chocolate Fest where we witnessed Garrett eat a chocolate covered cricket and larva. I am soo very grossed out I even heard it crunch. I guess on the way home he pulled a cricket wing out of his teeth!!! We were able to see Jessica also when we were in Idaho Falls. She came over to Kami's and we talked and laughed and had a great night.
We were in Idaho for two Sundays, the first Sunday we spent with the Phillips' we were able to go to church with them and then afterwards everyone came over and we ate lunch. It was fun to be able to see all of them. We wish we could have stayed a little longer there but it was Jayci's Birthday party later that afternoon.
The next couple of days flew rather fast. We were able to go to lunch a couple times with Grandpa Gary. And Daxton's favorite part.. The pumpkin patch!

Dax picked out his very own pumpkin!

At the pumpkin patch they had a little straw maze. Soo cute Kaden did such a good job and Dax needed just a little help.

Grandma Lorie met us there and helped us pick out some good pumpkins. She even hauled Kaden and Dax around in a little wagon.

Aren't they the cutest little guys you have ever seen? They had a blast!
We had such a great time in Idaho visiting family and friends. Dax and I were sure glad to be home though. We missed our friends in Kemmerer. After all it is where our home is.

October 1st Baby!

I love LOVE Fall. Everything about it. The smell, the cooler air, the colors, the decorations, the costume, Halloween, and Thanksgiving!
I get kinda giddy when September hits, and now that it is the very 1st day of October it's even better!
I'm so excited to carve pumpkins. I can't wait to dress Daxton in his Halloween costume. I am ecstatic to take him door to door to get tricks or treats. Mostly treats I think.
I love walking down the sidewalk and hearing the crunching of the leaves. I love the transition from green to orange, red, and yellow.
I love chillier weather (not cold to wear a coat) but I love being able to wear sweaters or sweat shirts and pants and socks and shoes.
It's time to say goodbye to summer and 80 degree weather and hello to beautiful fall.
It really feels like fall when I get to sit around with loved ones the first weekend of October and listen to General Authorities of the church give us guidance and stuff our faces with Conference Cakes and real whipped cream! Yum!
I don't know about you but I am definitely welcoming fall with open arms!!

Happy Birthday to Dax

Yesterday was Daxton's very FIRST birthday, that's right, my baby boy turned one. So, I guess that doesn't mean he's my little baby any more. He transformed from Baby to Toddler. Sad day for Mom. I wasn't sure how I was going to do with the fact he's growing up. I was a little proud, scared, impressed, relieved. I'm so proud to call him my son.

We started off the day GREAT!! I woke up to him just jabbering away talking and playing with himself in his crib.Hello Birthday Boy!! He didn't like it when the camera flashed, he didn't complain but it was too bright for him. After we got done playing in his room for a bit and a diaper change (which resulted in a bath.) We ate breakfast. I was going to make pancakes but forgot that we are out of syrup, so he had something else that was yummy. POP-TART!!We had to do a few errands in town. One of which was pay for Ray's gas that he accidentally left without paying. Silly Daddy. When we got home we went for a walk. I was just trying to keep him awake for a few more hours, did it work? Nope.Daxton took a great nap. He slept from 10:45M-1:15PM!! After he woke up from his nap, we ate lunch his favorite Mac & Cheese and then headed over to the Carlsons' for him to play with Mica. (Grr, I just looked and the pictures are side-ways again. They used to change for me but now I have have problems. Any ideas how to switch it let me know.)
We were planning on having Dax's party at the park. I thought it was going to work the weather was phenomenal up until about 2. Then the wind picked up. At 4 when I was leaving the Carlsons' house I saw dark clouds. Ugh!! So we switched the party to the indoors. Which was a good idea because it rained until 7!! Which is when the party was.

He was having so much fun, running around the Carlsons' house chasing the big kids, and the balloons. We had quite a few people there for his party. Thank you all who made it. We let the kids play for a little while before we started the party.

Dax received the following: Ford Super Duty Truck and U of W Jersey from the Carlsons, Thomas the Train Bath squirters from the Newells, Winnie the Pooh activity center from the Mowers, and a Fire engine from his Mom and Dad.
Next it was CupCAKE TIME!!

What a mess!! Good thing this only happens once a year and hopefully it won't be as bad next year.

We let Dax play a little bit with his new toys before we packed up and headed home. Thank you T & C and family for letting us throw this celebration at your home.
Daxton, we love you so much!! I'm so glad that you are a happy healthy little boy. You make me so proud everyday! I'm soo thankful that you are here and that we get to spend every day together!!

Happy Birthday A LITTLE early Dax!!

On Friday September 3rd we traveled down to Idaho. We wanted to accomplish some things over the weekend. Our friends Ted, Carolyn, Carson, Nick, Mica, and Chrislyn came with us to help us PaRtY!!!
(I'm fast forwarding to Saturday)
We woke up fairly early. We had to be at Grandma and Grandpa Phillips' house to have a breakfast birthday with them. We got to their house about 8:30 in the AM.
For breakfast we ate crepes with Raspberry or Strawberry filling, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. We also had breakfast burritos.
After breakfast, we decided to have Daxton open presents because we had to be at our Big party by 11:00 AM.
How excited do Carolyn and Carson look this early in the morn?!?! Ha ha ha!!!Daxton's very first present that he could open by himself, with just a little help from Daddy.Yay, he was soo excited for everything he got!! Forgive me for not posting all of his pictures of the presents he got at G'ma and G'pa Phillips' there were ALOT.
A little after 10 we were off. Dax wanted his part up at Green Canyon because believe it or not he LOVES swimming (only if the water is WaRm though.)
We started off the party with Lunch which consisted of Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, homemade potato salad, oriental chicken salad and chips.. Yummy! There were alot of people that came and helped Dax celebrate this special day. It was even more special because Miss Kyn came up (Her and Dax are only 9 days apart.)The Birthday boy himself!! He is soo sweet, and his cute little 1st Birthday outfit.Daxton's First Birthday Cake was PHENOMENAL his Grandma Lorie made it especially for him. As you can tell he had a Toy Story theme. It was a 2 tier cake with a special baby cake just for him. After swimming we sang 'Happy Birthday' and had cake and ice cream. We started opening presents and it was good. Then he got bored and I had to help him, and we did it VERY VERY quickly. This gift is from Grandpa Gary, I have to say that it is his absolutely FAVORITE toy so far!! He has a blast every time he gets in it.This bEaUtIfUl quilt was made by Grandma Lorie, it is adorable.

Dax was too cute and very unsure what to do with his cake. I did a little wedding cake move and started shoving it in face. But after he ate a little bit of it he decided he would rather play in it. Silly boy. I love this boy more than life its self. I also can't believe that he is ONE!!!

Some of Daxton's fun milestones:
-Helps Mom sing Old McDonald *EIO* is what he helps me out with
-Started walking WAY too soon at 9.5 months, now he is rUnNiNg
-Hides things so we won't find them. For instance while eating in his high chair or carseat he will put food down by his legs so we think he ate them.
-Not so much a fan of ice cream, but LOVES the cone.
-Says Ma Ma (Finally)Da Da, Ba Ba, Daw Daw (Doggie, sounds a little like Da Da)
-Throws MAJOR temper tantrums
