Happy Birthday to Dax

Yesterday was Daxton's very FIRST birthday, that's right, my baby boy turned one. So, I guess that doesn't mean he's my little baby any more. He transformed from Baby to Toddler. Sad day for Mom. I wasn't sure how I was going to do with the fact he's growing up. I was a little proud, scared, impressed, relieved. I'm so proud to call him my son.

We started off the day GREAT!! I woke up to him just jabbering away talking and playing with himself in his crib.Hello Birthday Boy!! He didn't like it when the camera flashed, he didn't complain but it was too bright for him. After we got done playing in his room for a bit and a diaper change (which resulted in a bath.) We ate breakfast. I was going to make pancakes but forgot that we are out of syrup, so he had something else that was yummy. POP-TART!!We had to do a few errands in town. One of which was pay for Ray's gas that he accidentally left without paying. Silly Daddy. When we got home we went for a walk. I was just trying to keep him awake for a few more hours, did it work? Nope.Daxton took a great nap. He slept from 10:45M-1:15PM!! After he woke up from his nap, we ate lunch his favorite Mac & Cheese and then headed over to the Carlsons' for him to play with Mica. (Grr, I just looked and the pictures are side-ways again. They used to change for me but now I have have problems. Any ideas how to switch it let me know.)
We were planning on having Dax's party at the park. I thought it was going to work the weather was phenomenal up until about 2. Then the wind picked up. At 4 when I was leaving the Carlsons' house I saw dark clouds. Ugh!! So we switched the party to the indoors. Which was a good idea because it rained until 7!! Which is when the party was.

He was having so much fun, running around the Carlsons' house chasing the big kids, and the balloons. We had quite a few people there for his party. Thank you all who made it. We let the kids play for a little while before we started the party.

Dax received the following: Ford Super Duty Truck and U of W Jersey from the Carlsons, Thomas the Train Bath squirters from the Newells, Winnie the Pooh activity center from the Mowers, and a Fire engine from his Mom and Dad.
Next it was CupCAKE TIME!!

What a mess!! Good thing this only happens once a year and hopefully it won't be as bad next year.

We let Dax play a little bit with his new toys before we packed up and headed home. Thank you T & C and family for letting us throw this celebration at your home.
Daxton, we love you so much!! I'm so glad that you are a happy healthy little boy. You make me so proud everyday! I'm soo thankful that you are here and that we get to spend every day together!!

Happy Birthday A LITTLE early Dax!!

On Friday September 3rd we traveled down to Idaho. We wanted to accomplish some things over the weekend. Our friends Ted, Carolyn, Carson, Nick, Mica, and Chrislyn came with us to help us PaRtY!!!
(I'm fast forwarding to Saturday)
We woke up fairly early. We had to be at Grandma and Grandpa Phillips' house to have a breakfast birthday with them. We got to their house about 8:30 in the AM.
For breakfast we ate crepes with Raspberry or Strawberry filling, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. We also had breakfast burritos.
After breakfast, we decided to have Daxton open presents because we had to be at our Big party by 11:00 AM.
How excited do Carolyn and Carson look this early in the morn?!?! Ha ha ha!!!Daxton's very first present that he could open by himself, with just a little help from Daddy.Yay, he was soo excited for everything he got!! Forgive me for not posting all of his pictures of the presents he got at G'ma and G'pa Phillips' there were ALOT.
A little after 10 we were off. Dax wanted his part up at Green Canyon because believe it or not he LOVES swimming (only if the water is WaRm though.)
We started off the party with Lunch which consisted of Pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw, homemade potato salad, oriental chicken salad and chips.. Yummy! There were alot of people that came and helped Dax celebrate this special day. It was even more special because Miss Kyn came up (Her and Dax are only 9 days apart.)The Birthday boy himself!! He is soo sweet, and his cute little 1st Birthday outfit.Daxton's First Birthday Cake was PHENOMENAL his Grandma Lorie made it especially for him. As you can tell he had a Toy Story theme. It was a 2 tier cake with a special baby cake just for him. After swimming we sang 'Happy Birthday' and had cake and ice cream. We started opening presents and it was good. Then he got bored and I had to help him, and we did it VERY VERY quickly. This gift is from Grandpa Gary, I have to say that it is his absolutely FAVORITE toy so far!! He has a blast every time he gets in it.This bEaUtIfUl quilt was made by Grandma Lorie, it is adorable.

Dax was too cute and very unsure what to do with his cake. I did a little wedding cake move and started shoving it in face. But after he ate a little bit of it he decided he would rather play in it. Silly boy. I love this boy more than life its self. I also can't believe that he is ONE!!!

Some of Daxton's fun milestones:
-Helps Mom sing Old McDonald *EIO* is what he helps me out with
-Started walking WAY too soon at 9.5 months, now he is rUnNiNg
-Hides things so we won't find them. For instance while eating in his high chair or carseat he will put food down by his legs so we think he ate them.
-Not so much a fan of ice cream, but LOVES the cone.
-Says Ma Ma (Finally)Da Da, Ba Ba, Daw Daw (Doggie, sounds a little like Da Da)
-Throws MAJOR temper tantrums

Bear Lake Round #2

(Sorry they are sideways, I tried to flip them)
This is us, on our way to Bear Lake! We went with some family friends.

Dax, didn't like the water so much. He was such a stubborn boy.

He did like playing in the sand though. Which was good. He has fun playing with Tyson.

Carson was pushing Ray and Nick's buttons, so this is what happens when they have had enough..

Ray dug a little hole and put Dax in it, and covered him up with sand. Dax did like this.. Finally something that made Dax smile!!

I think the best part of the day for our little Monster is playin in the sand. He did tho lose his balance while playing in the sand with the girls and hit his little mouth on a toy, he had blood running out of his mouth, and has a scraped up chin. Poor little baby. He only cried for a little bit and wanted him Ma Ma. But shortly after we walked out to the boat and got on for one last ride.

Overall, we had a pretty fun day. We are so glad that we have such good friends. Especially ones that have boats. Ha ha ha! Thank you all!!

LAGOON!!!

So, on Sunday August 15th we were invited to go to Lagoon with Kami, Garrett, and Kaden. My mom and Rob came too!! I was sooo excited to take Dax to Lagoon-a-Beach. I knew he was going to LOVE it.. Well, so I thought?
Our little family went down to Salt Lake on Saturday and stayed in a hotel. Thank goodness for Priceline!! I LOVE IT!! We got a $130.00 hotel room for $40.00! After we checked in to our hotel, we walked down to the Gateway to have dinner. After we ate, they had a little kid land thing there so we decided to take Dax on a boat ride.. He didn't really like it too much..
We had a rough night. Dax had a fever later that night. And we didn't get a real good night sleep. But, before we knew it was time to wake up and get ready for Lagoon. YIPPEE!!
I didn't take any pictures of Lagoon-A-Beach. But Dax didn't like it very much. He did warm up to the kiddie pool finally, and enjoyed going down the mini-slides. Cousin Kaden was such a good helper too. He was showing Dax how to have a good time. My mom and Rob took the kiddos after the beach so that we could go have fun and ride rides. Thanks Mom!! We had a ton of fun. We were able to ride my favorite ride Cliff Hanger. It broke down while we were on it, but that is ok. We rode the ride as long as we stood in line. LOL!!
Dax was able to ride a Merry-Go-Round. He loved it until it started to move.. He kept looking up trying to figure out how and why it was going up and down.

We went and rode the Rocket before heading home. It was getting late. Ray had to work the next day. I thought that Daxy would have zonked out as soon as we got into the car, but boy was I wrong. He SCREAMED from SLC to Diamondville. He finally passed out when we went down the hill into Kemmerer. Come to find out the next day that he had Thrush in his mouth, poor baby. I feel like everytime we go to Utah he gets something. Last time we went he ended up getting an ear infection and now he got thrush. Oh well, it has been just about a week and he is getting back to his normal self now.
Overall Ray and I had a Blast at Lagoon. Dax, not so much, but there is ALWAYS next year.

F.A.I.R

Today I got a text message from Carolyn that invited us to go to the Lincoln County Fair. I was pretty excited to go because Dax has never gone to a fair. So we decided to join the Carlson crew (minus Ted). We started out leaving town at about Noon. I was a little relieved on the time because Dax hadn't had a nap yet and it is about 1 1/2 hour to Afton so it would be perfect for his nap.. To my surprise he didn't sleep (silly boy). He had too much company in the car I guess for him to have a little shut eye. He was playing a game with Carson where Carson would scream and Dax would scream back. And Nick was sitting there screaming at Dax to stop. Ha ha, it was all too funny. We are just trying to "prepare" the boys for what ahead with their baby sister Chrislyn.

When we arrived at the fair we went first to the rides. Dax got to ride his very FIRST ride. He was a little tired from not sleeping well I don't think he enjoyed it as much as he would have if he would have taken a nap..

The ride worker was kind enough to slow the train for me while I was trying to take a picture. But to my surprise the ones that turned out the best were the ones that were taken while the train was moving.
\ Nick was Daxton's little helper on the ride. Daxton LOVES the Carlson kiddos so much! After the rides they had a Reptile exhibit. There we saw Tortious (spelling, sorry) and Alligators, and Chamelions, and Iguanas. I only got a picture of the Tortious.. They were all so awesome. This was Daxton durning the Reptile exhibit.. Mommy does know best. If he would have taken a nap on the way to Afton he could have been away for some pretty neat stuff. Later we joined up with Mica, Madison Ritter, and Brittany Ritter. We met under the tent where there was a illusionist there. Carson even got to go up on stage and be his assistant. He was pretty proud of that. We finished off our day with a snow cone, a new onesie for Dax which says " My mom is hotter than your Mom" (I had too) and a Navajo Taco (not WW approved, but I WILL do better tomorrow) and we got to watch a hypnotist. We had a great day. It was exhausting, but super fun! I am soo glad we went. We will have to take Daddy next time, he would have fun too. Thank you Carolyn and Kids for thinking of us today!!

First Day of Many!

So, yesterday I got a text message from my Mom saying "Kam and I are going do to WW, you should do it with us." I was hesitant at first. I haven't been successful at losing weight since I stopped breast feeding Dax. But after talking to close friend Carolyn, I decided to give it a try. I weighed in yesterday, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

This morning it is my first day.. Wish me luck, and great success. I have lost almost 45 pounds on it I can do it again. (I would be satisfied wish 30.)

I just want to feel better, and have energy. I CAN do this and I WILL do this.
