Hooray for living RIGHT!

So, the last Sunday of March was fast Sunday. Well, my mom being the wonderful nurturer as she is thought of a wonderful plan to start doing a famiy fast. Everyone would let the others know what type of decisions or hardships they are goin through and we as a whole family will fast for one another. So, for the Phillips part of the Poulsen/Matthews family we have been trying to decide if we need to move back to Rexburg this year so that Ray can continue his schooling. Ray was off work last week which was....April 4th-10th. He went to work for a 1/2 day on Monday the 12th didn't work Tuesday, went back to work on Wednesday. He was with his Journeyman who received a phone call from a different company offering his Journeyman a job. While on the phone with him he got asked if there was an apprentice that he knew of that would like a job. Lucky for us, Ray was standing right next to him and he said yes and gave him Ray's name. So, come to find out Ray was offered this new job, which is still in Wyoming. He will get a $4.00 raise, and is guaranteed work for atleast a year if not more. PLUS he will get $75.00/day sub money (which is basicaaly like perdiem) Yaya!!! Also, I guess that the company is big enough that it is mandatory for them to send the apprentices to school. Our fasting and our lovely family members that fasted for us helped us get the answers that we needed. We are staying in Kemmerer. We love it here. It gets better every day. It also helps to have friends that we get to do things with AT LEAST once a week if not more. We are just praying that this continues to be good for our little family.

Happy Easter (That came and went to fast!)

So, it has alreay almost been a month since I blogged. I am slacking pretty good. Dax turns 7 MONTHS OLD! In two days. WOW, where does the time go?
We had a very good Easter weekend. It was General Conference, so not only did we get to listen to prophets of the church speak what God wants us to hear, we got to have a visit from Daxton's grandpa. We had such a fun time with him.

So, about a month ago our camp trailer was "Fortunately" next to another camp trailer that burnt to the ground. Our had some heat damage done to it. Well..When the insurance adjuster went to look at it, they decided to consider our trailer a total loss. A total blessing in disquise. The reason that they totalled it, was that our trailer I guess had been discontinued and they would have had to special order the replacement parts which would have totalled over $25,000.00!! Well, our trailer we bought brand-new in 2007 for $21,000.00. We have been wanting to get rid of it ever since we bought our house but have had trouble selling it. So WHEW! Now, we are $400/month richer :D.

So, because of the trailer and us having some extra money and the generocity of Ray's brother and his wife.. We were able to finish the room that we started just about 2 years ago to date. It is so cute I love it. I can't wait until our whole house gets re-done.

I started making a denim quilt for Dax. It is so cute. It has cars pieced with the denim on the top, and coordinating polka-dots for the back. I got all of the piecees cut out, and laid out. I just need to get my sewing machine up and working and figured out so I can sew them together. I was going to give it to him for his birthday (that was my set goal) but maybe I will get it done before so that he can enjoy it a head of time.

Oh, one more thing.. So we have this family generation (my family) My mom every conference Sunday would make this yummy danish type things called Coffee Cakes for breakfast; but they are called Conference Cakes at our house since we don't drink Coffee. Well, since I have my own little family, and my dad came to visit, I made them for the FIRST time ever. They were so yummy. I did such a good job.

Dax's 1/2 Birthday!

So, I can't believe that my baby is SIX months old! Sheesh, could we slow down time a bit. I'm going to be sending him to school before I know it.
Dax had is Doctor Appointment on Friday. He weighed 17lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long. He did pretty good, only cried for a few minutes. But he did give his Doctor the meanest look. (too cute and funny!) We made an appointment for Dax to get his pictures taken at the Valley Fair Mall. With JCPenney Portraits. He did such a good job and even let me change his outfit THREE times.
When we were down in SLC, we met some friends also. We went to dinner at Red Robin, Mmm so yummy!
Here are some of Daxton's pictures from out Photoshoot yesterday.

Yay for WARM weather!

So, today I was really hoping and praying that it would be warm with no wind! I guess my hoping and praying paid off! Dax and I went on a walk (oh ya, Duke came too) We walked to the library to drop off Dax's books we got him that are due tomorrow. The library is about 5 blocks or so away, it wasn't bad until I came to the hill I had to climb with a 40 pound stroller and a dog that was trying to go the opposite direction. But we made it. Lets just say by butt was BURNIN'!!! So, after we left the library we were walking a different way home, and we crossed paths with our friends' house. They were home, packing to get ready to go to Utah. So I stopped and talked with them for a few minutes. When I was leaving I got a kiss on the hand and a plea not to leave with out him (Ha ha, cute little crush! Nick your a funny kid!) But, I left and we traveled home, and had a delightful walk in the WARM weather!

Easter

Ok, so in less than a month we will be celebrating the resurrection of our Savior. Now that Ray and I are parents we would like for Daxton to realize that Easter isn't all about the Easter Bunny and Easter Baskets.. but with the world that we live in it is/will be a hard task to accomplish. I think what I would like to do is yes, give him candy and let him believe in the Easter bunny, but in one way or the other, tie in church to this fabulous holiday.

So, now I am going to complain about our WONDERFUL stores that we rely on for providing us with yummy and "nutritious" items. I looked at Wal-Mart and Jubilee and Alco for the most delish Easter candy out there (besides the solid milk chocolate bunny from Mom's Candy Kitchen) CADBURY MINI EGGS!!! Mmm.. (mouth watering) I am on an Easter "egg" hunt! Ha ha. We are going to SLC so I will have to hopefully find them there. Fingers crossed.

Failure to Follow-up

So, I noted in a previous Blog that I found a fluid filled bubble on the back of Dax's head.. Well I failed to let you all know that at the beginning of the year IT WENT AWAY!! Woohoo! I was so relieved, the year started out WONDERFULLY. So far this year there hasn't been any "weird" things happen to my little Stink.

Daxton's 5th Month!

So, we are almost to Dax's 1/2 birthday! Wow, time flys so fast. Well, lets see.. I can't even think of what has happened this last month, I guess that is what I get for Blogging at 10 o'clock at night.

A couple of weeks ago, Dax decided to sit up ALL BY HIMSELF! Little stink, he is just getting so big! He also has been playing Patty-Cake. I didn't realize that that is what he was doing until my mom said that he is playing Patty-Cake. I would play it with him, basically since he was born.

Last weekend we traveled to Idaho, Ray's grand-mother past away. Her funeral was amazing, she was such an incredible woman. I am just so glad that we got pictures of Dax and her before she was ready to return home to her Heavenly Father. Dax won't remember her, but we will be able to tell him what an AMAZING person she was.

So, Ray's job... Hm... where do I begin on that. We are hoping and praying that we can either find him a good one with benefits, and good salary, and good hours in the Rexburg area, just so that we can get him done with school or, find him a better one here in Kemmerer. But we are kind of picky because neither of us want me to have to work. My job is here, at home, with Daxton. (The love of my life)

Well, to sum things all up: Daxton has his 6 month well child on March 19th at 3:15 where we will find out how big he is getting. Then (hopefully) we will be getting his pictures taken in SLC on the 20th. Man, my little man is growing up!
